This is “Raven”, our 400th cat spayed or neutered since August of 2008. As you can see, Raven is a gorgeous Seal Point Siamese kitten, and believe it or not, he and three of his littermates were roaming the streets of Mendota and being cared for by a concerned citizen. Raven is not the first Siamese we’ve encountered on the streets – to date we have trapped and neutered several Siamese, a couple Himalayans, and one Persian. Any breed of cat can wind up homeless and once they start breeding, the kittens, even purebred, ‘exotic’ breeds like Siamese, quickly become feral.
Fortunately for Raven and his littermates, his family tree stops at Illinois Valley Cat Taxi, and his second life begins. All 4 kittens from this litter have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and are being relocated through our Barn Cat Adoption Program to a safe new home.
