For homeless, abused, or neglected animals, Safe House is a beacon of hope, a place for second chances, a warm spot to rest tired heads, to heal wounds and start anew. We are a no-kill rescue group in LaSalle County, Illinois. We assist pets, and the people who love them, from LaSalle and Lee counties.
Safe House Animal Rescue League is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization run exclusively by dedicated volunteers.
We focus on rescuing at-risk pets, adopting these pets into loving homes, practicing Trap Neuter Return as the humane and effective solution to community cats, and offering impounded feral cats a second chance at life as working mousers through our Barn Cat Program. Safe House is a no-kill organization where no pets are ever euthanized for space.
Since 2008, we have spayed or neutered several thousand cats through spay/neuter assistance programs, and we have saved thousands more through our progressive adoption programs. Safe House is a foster home based rescue; our pets live in home environments with volunteer families until they are adopted. This prepares them for a successful transition to your home and allows us to know each pet as an individual.
Please get involved and help save more lives – volunteer, foster, donate.
