Rocky is about 1 year old as of April, 2024.  He is the sweetest boy, timid at first, but once he knows you won't hurt him, he is all about pets, scratches and playing with the wand toy!  He is a complete pushover for his wet food and anyone can bond with him that will give him time to adjust and be brave.  Rocky showed up at a lady's home with visible wounds.  Fortunately, he was helped and received medical treatment along with neuter, rabies, vaccinations, etc.  Unfortunately, his visible wounds could be repaired but he tested positive for Feline Leukemia Virus (FELV) and that, unfortunately, can not be totally "fixed"  Other than his tattered ear, which was repaired with sutures, Rocky shows no visible signs of prior injury or illness.  He leads a totally normal life and is healthy!   FELV cats in our care before have lived up to 8 years and stories show that they can live many more.  They do require a home with only FELV positive cats/no other cats since the virus spreads between felines only easily.  Our no kill rescue would never euthanize a healthy boy like Rocky; he deserves life and a chance.  Adopt him today.  Approved applications will be contacted within 48 hours.

All of our cats have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, microchipped, and tested for FIV/FeLV. Our adoption fee structure is as follows:

  • $75 - Kittens/Young (Up to 1 year)
  • $50 - Adult (1 Year +)
  • $25 - Senior (7 Years +)
  • $0 - FIV +
  • There is an additional $25 fee for cats considered to be an "Exotic" (Siamese, Persian, etc...)
  • If you are a senior (65 years or older) you can adopt any of our senior cats (7 years or older) for only $10! Please mention this special when applying.
  • We also have a kitten special - adopt 2 available kittens (1 year & under) for $125

While we try to keep our animal listings up-to-date online, sometimes the age range may be labelled incorrectly. Please don't hesitate to contact us for the most up-to-date information on a particular cat.  Our cats are shown by appointment - we are a foster based rescue and so we don't have a location with set hours.

If you are interested in adopting or would like to meet our cats, please fill out our adoption application online at www.safehousepets.org/info/adoption and a volunteer will contact you promptly.
