Vincent: A Brave Feline Ready His Forever Home
Hi, I'm Vinnie. My story with Safe House starts in a cold, snowy blizzard, where I was all alone, shivering in the middle of a road I was scared sick, could not hear and I did not know if I'd make it. But then, kind people found me and took me to this rescue. They saw I was in rough shape-my eyes were cloudy, my nose clogged, ears infected, and my tummy hurt all the time . I want to tell you how far l have come, hoping you'll open your heart ❤️ and be my forever family. For six months, my rescuers fought for me; they never gave up on me. I received necessary medicines, treatments for fleas, worms, parasites, and they fed me the yummiest food. My eyes began to sparkle again, my coat became shiny, and, finally, at about 4 years old I was neutered and vaccinated! My tummy troubles stuck around . They tried everything-tests, special diets, bloodwork, ultrasounds, and nothing objectively showed why I had soft stools. Without a big ole surgery for a biopsy, Dr. Dullard diagnosed me with irritable bowel disease, and with depo shots every 4 to 6 weeks, I am so much better now! I'm a clean boy who always uses my litter box. My tummy will most likely always need a little extra love and some special food…oh and I need a quick chin wipe with a Stridex pad for my kitty acne-it's no big deal, I promise l used to be a bit pushy, jumping into faces for attention because I was so desperate to feel loved. But with patience, l have learned to be gentle. Now, l'm all about snuggles, playing with my favorite toys, talking, chirping, and purring in your lap . I'm a special guy who needs a home where I'm the only pet; other cats and dogs make me nervous and I can't live peacefully with them. I’m sorry, but it’s hard on the streets without being neutered. I often had to fight for my food and constantly be on guard. I was missing several teeth when I came into rescue but Doc says my teeth are good now! I’d love to live with older kids who understand when I need a quiet moment, but little ones might be too much for me. So they say I'm a "special needs" boy, but I am not very needy at all! For just $3.70 a day, I can be yours. That includes all my vet care, my food, my depo injections, my annual injections, all of it! That's not too bad.... about the price of an average favorite caffeine beverage. Plus, you won’t be spending money on treats I can’t have, and I will stay lean and healthy as my special food is measured out everyday. My food each day costs less than a 3 ounce can of fancy feast. I've come through so much, and all I dream of now is a warm, loving home where I can share my big heart. Will you be the one to give me that chance? I'm ready to be your loyal, cuddly friend —please adopt me and let my story have a happy ending.
Love, Vinnie your future purrever friend
