When you adopt a pet from a shelter or rescue, you save a life. 4-5 million pets are euthanized each year in our nation’s animal shelters, and Safe House believes every one of those pets deserves a second chance. By adopting a pet instead of buying, you become an animal hero who is working with us toward the goal of no animals being killed simply because they are homeless.

Adopting a pet will not only make you feel good, but it just makes good sense too!

Safe House will do its best to ensure that the cat you adopt is happy and healthy, by providing pre-adoption behavior assessments and veterinary care. Every cat that comes through our doors is an individual and our volunteers and foster homes know each cat personally. We will provide you with as much detail as possible on your pet’s behavior and personality. Our adoptable cats are shown by appointment.

Also, if an omission or untruth is discovered after an adoption takes place, I understand that Safe House Animal Rescue League reserves the right to annul the adoption and reclaim the animal. I give SHARL permission to investigate the information provided, including conducting a background check, as well as contact veterinarians and related officials. I understand the adoption decision is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to the compatibility of the family and home to the individual pet, and other applications received on this pet. I understand it is SHARL's sole prerogative to decide which home is most appropriate, that my application can be denied at any time for any reason, that their decision is final and I will not contest it. It is our goal to place pets in loving, lifelong homes and any information gathered is used only to that interest.*
